It’s never too late to learn something new! We built Kismet for people who want to feed their creativity through art, movement, and community. Practice the art of being a beginner or hone an existing practice— the choice is yours.

WHAT WE OFFER

We believe exercising your creative license is just as important as exercising your body. That’s why we offer classes that do both! Kismet hosts creative and folk craft-based classes alongside diverse yoga and mindfulness programming.

We keep class sizes small so our instructors can give your individual practice the attention it deserves.

All of our programming is developed with three things in mind:

Sustainability:

All due respect to sip-and-paint, but what are we supposed to do with that canvas after class is over? The art you create at Kismet is always functional, or rooted in heritage practice— never destined for trash island.

Speaking of trash island: many of our Creative classes incorporate reclaimed, secondhand, and deadstock materials. The items we do source new are purchased from local and regional businesses whenever possible.

Connection:

Our classes are designed to encourage conversation and connection amongst participants, with larger artistic and yogic principles, and with the self. We hope you will leave class with a new friend or two, some interesting information in your back pocket, and the feeling that you’ve done something invigorating for yourself!

Skill-Building:

Like great TV: whether you watch from episode 1 or jump in at season 10; you’ll enjoy the show. Classes are designed to invite participants to build and refine skills over time, while remaining approachable to those who’d rather pop in to a class or two for kicks.

We’ll meet you where you’re at and offer invitations to challenge when you’re ready.

WHO WE ARE

Sofía here, founder of Kismet! I direct Kismet’s Creative programming while my mom, Nicole, takes the lead on all things Movement & Mindfulness. Together with a talented team of creatives, academics, and practitioners; we are proud to offer a space for Tucsonans to find community through creative expression!
